annoying part is i wasn't going particularly fast at the moment, and just descending a steep grade mountain road with the other traffic. i think the po-po targeted me because i was in a somewhat conspicuous sports car (borrowed, for the weekend) and assumed i was up to no good? either way, it's lame and in my 18 years of driving history i have only received 3 moving violations... coincidentally all at the end of the month.
(that's not me nor my car in the pic, by the way)

Not you or your car - good, because a cop ticketing a Miura a few miles over the limit would be a dickweed. Typically with an old classic, you have somebody taking extreme care as a driver (other than, perhaps, speed).

this is true, and if the classic is in the state of mine i can claim the speedo must be off....lol

if its in the same county you could file a suite saying you are being targeted for a quota system. Which I believe is illegal

I'm no lawyer, but it probably wouldn't go anywhere. With only 3 instances over 18 years, there wouldn't be enough evidence to support the existence of a quota.

hah, very true.
that pic is actually from the episode of Comedians In Cars... where Jerry and Chris Rock get pulled over in the that Miura. I haven't seen the episode yet (I've been saving it) so I don't know what happens. Think I'll go watch it!

true. though relevantly enough a friend on facebook yesterday said he's noticed an obvious increase in the past few days of police pulling people over in our area (my ticket actually happened 200 miles away) and several people chimed in agreeing including a couple that received tickets. but whatever, i'm mostly just venting...

So, what your saying is that you would rather get the ticket that has your name on it when you really do deserve it, and had have to spend a few hundred in fines plus the 6-8 thousand in legal fees on top of that? Oh yeah, and maybe end up on a suspended license. Nope, I hope I get a cop that gives me mine for something truly and epically petty like 3 over.
